An Open Book, But I Don't Tell All.....

Lo, praise for the epic scenes ne'er told
So many from the days of old.
When time was young and youth was new
And love was pure and true.

Many sagas I could write
Of those who tried to win my heart
Or me theirs.
Through hoops and fields of memory run
The words that speak Of Life and Love

Kept inside, a silent prayer,
That one will come and remain there,
Through tests of time and storm and strife
The reason others went astray...
The one who is my Love for life.

Hindsight

We learn a lot from those who love us
Learn a lot from those who don't.
There's only so much you can do
With those who can't or those who won't.

Eventually you come to see
That you can do and care for them
And love them 'till the cows come home
But it won't change things either way.
So if you find you're worrisome

Take on step back and try to see
If you deserve to wait and wait
For hell to freeze
Then celebrate
Your foresight before it's too late
To have something
To call your own
Before the cows come home.

No Matter What, I'm Always Near

During the first week when Kate brought me home, she was out working on the property. I was 12 weeks old. She was cleaning the easement in front of the house which was littered with construction debris from nearby homes.
She worked so hard she didn't notice our front door slip open. All of a sudden she stopped, looked up, saw the door open, shivered and called,
 "Jack! Oh my God, Jack!!"
She ran around the one acre yard like a crazy person! She looked all around, but she couldn't find me ANYWHERE.
I guess she thought maybe I wandered off or ran away. Grady and I were just sitting quietly on the porch (just like I am in this photo above) the whole time, just watching her.
I reassured her from a very early age that she could always trust me to stay near.

Separation Anxiety Reversed

Now you know the way I felt when I couldn't go with you.
You always came right home to me.
Whey would it be any different now?
Everything will be okay. I'll see you soon. I promise.

I'm just gone from your sight for a little while.
I promise, you'll Come Home to me.
Have faith in this. Just wait and see.
I'll be all excited at the gate
To see you, oh I cannot wait!
Until then know I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
